Provided the Apple ID is already created, users will need to open the Settings app and tap on the Sign in button right at the top. Enter the email address associated with the Apple ID along with the password. The process for signing in to an Apple ID is the same on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. This is particularly useful for iPhone users who use a Windows PC. On a Windows PC, an Apple ID can be used to sign in to iCloud to access saved photos, documents, videos, and more. Some smart TVs which have the Apple TV app also require users to sign in using their Apple ID. For example, Android users need to enter an Apple ID if they're using the Apple Music app or watching Apple TV on their devices.

While the primary use case for an Apple ID is to sync information across devices in the Apple ecosystem, it can also be used to sign in to Apple services on third-party devices.
